Root canal treatment is needed when the blood or nerve supply of a tooth becomes infected through decay or injury.
What does treatment involve?
The infected tissue is removed, the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, and the root canals are filled and sealed. A crown may be advised afterwards to protect the tooth.
